As the world's leading exhibition for additive manufacturing, and the next generation of intelligent industrial manufacturing methods, Formnext 2017 drew a total of over 21,492 attendees, and 470 exhibitors.

Ultimaker returned to exhibit this year, and was among a wide range of international exhibitors who were excited to present their expertise in additive manufacturing. It was a great opportunity to connect with our users, investigate the latest industry trends, and showcase our current range of Ultimaker products.

Cutting time and costs for business

Our booth featured a selection of successful business cases that demonstrate the huge potential of adopting Ultimaker 3D printers to assist your business:

Volkswagen Autoeuropa reduced cycle time operation, labor, and the need for reworking, while improving tool ergonomics using Ultimaker 3D printers. Furthermore, they achieved this at a tenth of the usual cost. The company estimates that they are on track to save €325,000 by the end of 2017.

Sylatech used Ultimaker 3D printers to prototype sample parts for its customers, allowing them to test their designs without having to invest in tooling ahead of investment casting.

ABB Robotics used Ultimaker 3D printers to minimize risk in the development process by proving the viability of a design before investing in an expensive tool, shrinking the development process from months to a matter of days.

A range of accessible solutions that guarantee high-quality results

Besides business cases, the Ultimaker booth featured demonstrations of our free and open source print preparation software, Ultimaker Cura. Visitors were particularly interested in our new plugin structure, which allows businesses to develop a custom modification to the core software, such as CAD integration, custom file readers, or other custom additions that improve the manufacturing workflow.

Our new Cura Connect feature also drew significant interest. By grouping multiple Ultimaker 3D printers together, your office, studio, or work floor can have a fully integrated production solution that is controlled from a single interface.

Our booth also showcased our full range of Ultimaker materials, which when used in combination with Ultimaker Cura materials profiles guarantee each user high quality, reliable results.

It was a pleasure to attend Formnext and we would like to thank everyone who visited us. We would like to give a special thanks to our service partner iGo3D for assiting us at the event.

We are always happy to share our knowledge and experience with our users, so take a look at our upcoming events where you can put your questions to us in person.
