Since the first beta release of Ultimaker Cura 4.0 in December 2018, we’ve received a lot of useful feedback which we’ve incorporated into this second beta release. An upcoming firmware beta will also give access an early preview of our new platform – Ultimaker Cloud.
Please note: As this is a beta release, we can’t guarantee the same print reliability as the latest stable version. If you’re working on an important project, we strongly recommend that you use the latest stable version of Ultimaker Cura.
Resizable custom mode panel. Feedback from the first beta led us to update the custom mode panel to be resizable, so that more settings can be viewed depending on your needs. The set position will persist between sessions.
Integrated backups. ‘Cura backups’ has been integrated into Ultimaker Cura and can be found in the extensions menu. Use this to backup your Ultimaker Cura configurations to the cloud when signed in to an Ultimaker account, for easy access on any computer.
Plugin ratings. Offer your feedback of plugins in the Marketplace when you are signed in to your Ultimaker account. By rating your experience, you help others to find the best plugins for applications, and offer valuable feedback to plugin contributors.
Marketplace optimizations. We’ve optimized the Marketplace to show a support site, more lines for product descriptions, and a website link where you can order material directly.
Remote printing. Send print jobs to network-enabled Ultimaker printers from anywhere in the world, and monitor print progress to stay informed of your processes no matter where you are. For now, one Ultimaker printer can be linked to an Ultimaker account. This feature will become possible with the release of firmware 5.2 beta (which will follow this beta release shortly).
These are just a few feature highlights. Download the latest beta of Ultimaker Cura 4.0 today and discover what else is new. And don’t forget to use your Ultimaker account to give us your feedback in our community of 3D printing experts!
