We are back! If January was an indication of what 2015 is going to be, we are in for a wild ride!

It was the first year Ultimaker was an exhibitor at CES in Las Vegas and we brought some scoops with us to share with the press, audience and rest of the world. During the first day of CES we launched a new website which is more in sync with Ultimaker’s identity, where its main focus is to be a source of inspiration and enable our community members to tell their stories in both words and images.

Besides the new website, which will continue being updated in the next few months, Ultimaker also launched 2 new 3D printers. 2014 has been an inspiration for Ultimaker, where the Ultimaker 2 got a lot of recognition after being Best in Shootout 2015 by Make Magazine, and being awarded Best Consumer Product in 3D Printshow. This lead the team to expand the Ultimaker 2 family, by launching the mighty mini Ultimaker 2 Go and impeccable Ultimaker 2 Extended. Just like the Ultimaker 2, all the files will be released 6 months after the launch to live up to our open source values.

We feel like exhibiting at CES is a benchmark, something that we have been fighting for these 3 years. As a young European company we feel victorious to exhibit at the largest Consumer Electronics Show of the world. For that same reason we have never been more stressed when on January 5th, a day prior to the show nothing arrived when we needed to build up the stand. After several calls, around 5pm, our carpet finally arrived and within an hour so did our booth and the precious Ultimaker’s. In our new video you can see how happy we were exactly, by doing ‘carpet-angels’.

In the end, we got everything set up in time. Sleep is overrated! We had the Ultimaker’s set up just in time for the pre-press event. Luckily, because the new Ultimaker 2 Go and Ultimaker 2 Extended drew a lot of attention. We got interviewed, among others, by Tested, MAKE Magazine and TCT Magazine.

At our booth we got a lot of attention from various press and industry affiliates who wanted to check out the new members to our family. Beside the recap video we showed you earlier we also made a sweet timelapse video to share our experiences. Let us know what you think!
