Used in: Art
Used as: Concept models
3D printer: Ultimaker 2
Material: PLA
Color: Orange
Nozzle diameter: 0.40 mm
Layer resolution: 61-80 micron
Print time: 8-12 hours

Kmanstudios mentioned one of my last prints reminded him of the head from the 'The Thing' with the tentacles so as a result of not getting it out of my head I did a quick sculpt and ended up with this, have no idea why the two sides didn't join up correctly, but I admit i didn't pay attention to the settings when i did it and may have got the scale wrong when printing it as well. I guess I need to pay more attention when cutting up objects, but its good practice for joining two parts in a way to avoid seeing the seam!

Hi, thanks! I'll do a little tutorial on that too! its 3 different puttys I think i can't remember exactly tamiya basic grey was one of them! two solid one liquid also mr hobby something or other. Im still experimenting but I think people all have their own methods, I try to do it as quick and lazy as possible but sometimes it takes time when the gap is massive! I misprinted this and don't have a clue why the two sides didnt fit. I think I lowered the print by accident and forgot to change it back to baseline.

Came out like this... not perfect, but you also have to draw a line somewhere as to when you are simply wasting your time you could be doing more interesting things with!...also had to cover up three drill holes as i filled it with plaster, you can see it in my vid on you tube if you look.
