0.4 mm nozzle: 200 to 20 micron
A micron is the measurement unit used to define the thickness of a 3D printed layer. 20 micron is 0.02 mm thick. 200 micron is 0.20 mm. Thinner layers are used for high detailed prints, thicker layers are great for fast prototypes.
Build plate – Ultimaker Original+
50 °C to 100 °C heated glass build plate
Due to the 50 °C to 100 °C heated glass build plate you’re able to use a much larger selection of filaments for your prints. To clean the plate simply open the clamps and remove it.
Build plate leveling
The Ultimaker Cura’s configuration wizard will assist you to calibrate the build plate. The print head will first move to the left front corner, so you can adjust the screw and set the correct height. When finished, press “Resume” and the print head will move to the next point. Repeat these steps for all points.
Fused filament fabrication (FFF)
This is the process of depositing layers of filament, one on top of the other, to build up shapes and models. It is a form of additive manufacturing technology and the process used by all Ultimaker 3D printers.
0.4 nozzle: up to 8 mm³/s
The build speed determines how fast the filament can be extruded through the hot end of the 3D printer.
Single extrusion print head with swappable nozzles
Swappable nozzles allow you quickly switch between different nozzles. The standard is 0.4 mm for easy maintenance.
Print head travel speed
30 to 300 mm/s
The higher print head travel speed means faster 3D prints.
12.5, 12.5, 5 micron
The more accurate the stepper motors within the printer, the greater degree of accuracy can be achieved with each print. Our motors are engineered and tested to achieve the very highest accuracy.
Swappable nozzles allow you easy maintenance and fast nozzle replacement.
180 °C to 260 °C
With such a large a temperature range from 180 °C to 260 °C, you have greater flexibility as to which filaments you can print with.
Nozzle heat up time

The nozzle heat up time relates to how fast you can start printing, as well as how fast it can melt the plastic.
Build plate heat up time - Ultimaker Original+

The build plate heat up time relates to how fast it can reach the print-ready temperature.
Thanks to the low level of operating sound, Ultimaker 3D printers are suitable for use in the office, school and home environment.
Open filament system
An open filament system means you can use any kind of 3D printing material to meet your needs.
When purchasing filaments for your Utlimaker Original+, you must buy 2.85 mm diameter filament – this is the optimal size for your Ultimaker.

Supported file types
STL, OBJ, X3D, 3MF, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG
An STL file is the most used file type for 3D printing. Nearly any 3D modeling software program is able to create these files.
Standalone SD card printing
Simply copy the G-code file that Ultimaker Cura created for you onto the supplied SD card and insert it into your Ultimaker Original+. No computer connection required during printing.
Operating ambient temperature
15 °C to 32 °C (59 °F to 90 °F)
