Creating a topic

When starting a new thread, please first check to make sure it doesn’t already exist – this will help to reduce the amount of double posts.

If a similar thread already exists, you can either read other people’s responses, or get involved yourself.

To make the forum as easy to use as possible, we’ve created 3 different topics: a regular forum topic, a question or an idea.

General topic

Forum topics are exactly as you’d expect them to be. If you want to share your thoughts, go ahead and post it. We would love to hear them! A ‘General topic’ is great for sharing experiences with fellow community members or just telling everyone about the amazing day you have had. However, if you have a question about your Ultimaker, Cura or something similar, post a Question instead. If you have an idea about a future upgrade, a new feature to the forum or a different Ultimaker-related project, post it as an Idea.

This probably requires no explanation, but just to clarify - if your sentence ends with a ‘?’ there’s a fair chance you are dealing with a question!

Best Answer

After posting a question, make sure to select a ‘Best Answer’ once you’ve found the solution. This helps future readers with similar problems find the best answer too!

We’d love you to share your new, original and creative ideas with Ultimaker and other community members. If you have a great idea but don’t have the complete set of skills yourself, you can find others via the community to support your idea and make it to reality!

Ideas might include: add-ons for Ultimaker 3D printers, suggested new features, or new hardware or software.

Please note, posting an idea should not be confused with posting a suggestion. Suggestions or remarks can be posted in the appropriate thread, for example: Ultimaker Feedback.
