Introducing new Intent profiles with Ultimaker Cura 4.6 beta <\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n

Since their introduction in Ultimaker Cura 4.4,\u00a0\u00a0Intent\u00a0profiles<\/a> for the Ultimaker S3 and Ultimaker S5\u00a0have proved to be very popular. This feature allows\u00a0our users to start prints with the click of a button, forgoing the need for a great deal of configuration steps.

New Intent profiles\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The success of <\/a>Intent profiles have prompted a call from the market to expand our offerings. With Ultimaker Cura 4.6 beta, we’ve done just that: engineering Intent profiles have been expanded to include Ultimaker PC, Nylon, CPE, and CPE+.<\/p><\/section>\n

New engineering Intent profiles are compatible with 0.4 mm print cores<\/div><\/div>\n

These\u00a0engineering\u00a0profiles, which are compatible with\u00a0AA\u00a00.4\u00a0mm print cores, allow you to simplify your print preparation workflow, produce better output from your printer, and enhance dimensional accuracy, so you can print models with improved tolerances.<\/p>\n

New\u00a0features\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Other new features in Ultimaker Cura 4.6 beta include:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Show active post-processing scripts.<\/b> fieldOfview<\/a> has contributed an ease-of-use improvement to the post-processing plugin. The number of enabled post-processing scripts will\u00a0now\u00a0display as a badge notification over the post-processing scripts icon. A tooltip\u00a0provides\u00a0extra information\u00a0regarding which scripts are\u00a0enabled, allowing quick and easy inspection.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hole horizontal expansion.<\/b>\u00a0Smartavionics<\/a> has contributed a\u00a0new setting\u00a0that\u00a0applies an offset to all holes on each layer,\u00a0enabling the manual enlargement or contraction of\u00a0holes\u00a0as needed to counteract horizontal expansion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Updated installer.<\/b>\u00a0Small fixes have been made to the installer. We\u2019ve also updated the images to display an Ultimaker S3 instead of an Ultimaker 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Per-model settings.<\/b>\u00a0The “Infill only” checkbox has been changed to a dropdown selection:\u00a0\u201cInfill mesh\u00a0only\u201d\u00a0or\u00a0\u201cCutting mesh.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Transparent support rendering.<\/b>\u00a0In preview mode with \u201cLine type\u201d selected, support material will render with transparency so you can easily see what\u2019s being supported.<\/p><\/section>\n

Third-party printers<\/h2>\n

Support has been added for third-party printers, including:<\/p>\n

Flying Bear printers.<\/b> Added new definition for Flying Bear Ghost 4S Printer.<\/p>\n

Magicfirm printers.<\/b> Added new definitions for MBot Grid II+, MBot Grid II+ (dual), MBot Grid IV+, and MBot Grid IV+ (dual).<\/p>\n

HMS434.<\/b> Updates to the HMS434 machine profile have been contributed by Maukcc<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Security improvements\u202f<\/h2>\n

Backup\u202fstorage size.<\/b>\u202fWe\u2019ve\u202fput a hard limit on backup file size to prevent other files being stored there.\u202f<\/p>\n

Bug fixes\u202f<\/h2>\n

3MF\u202fG-code\u202fcomments removed.<\/b>\u202fFixed a bug where comments were removed from Start\/End G-codes when opening from a 3MF.\u202f<\/p>\n
