We are delighted to introduce our overhauled cloud-based printer management solution – Ultimaker Digital Factory.

Building on nearly three years of innovation and experience through our remote printing platforms, it offers several new and enhanced features to help you maximize 3D printing efficiency at scale.

What’s new?

The Ultimaker Digital Factory provides powerful cloud-based tools for easy remote management of Ultimaker 3D printers and teams.

With the introduction of Ultimaker Digital Factory, if you already use our software tools you will notice a few things changing:

  • The process to connect a new printer to Ultimaker Digital Factory is simpler than before

  • Ultimaker Connect and Ultimaker Cloud are now rebranded with the new name

  • What were previously local area network-only features are now also available in the cloud, so you can control your 3D printing workflow from anywhere in the world

Why the changes, you may ask? We wanted to bring the best features from our local network tools into the cloud so that you can use any feature, anywhere. And we felt it made sense to unify the products into one seamless experience as we do this.

So, this isn’t just a rebrand. This is the start of a simpler, more productive, connected 3D printing workflow.

Key features

No matter if you’re a cloud printing veteran or still plugging in a USB stick every print, there’s plenty to be excited about.

At the heart of Ultimaker Digital Factory is remote 3D printer management. Wherever you are, send secure print jobs via the cloud to Ultimaker 3D printers on your network. Then stay informed of print progress thanks to remote device monitoring.

And how about new features with this launch? We hear you.

  • Improved print queue. Queue your print jobs, and control them as you go. Need a new design iteration fast? Move it to the top. Your colleague takes a shine to your latest print? Duplicate or reprint a job. You can now also rename or disable a printer remotely, or identify it, triggering the frame light to flash – useful if you have a large printer suite

  • Update firmware remotely. For future firmware releases, you will be able to push these to your printers from your desktop or device

  • Improved printer connection workflow. You can now connect a printer with a few simple steps. Just select the printer type to add, go to the printer, open network settings and select ‘Connect’, then enter the code you see on screen in the Ultimaker Digital Factory. And you’re done!
