VECT thermal regulation system

Actively heated chamber

Patented VECT™ 110 Thermal Regulation evenly heats and controls the print environment leading to parts that are stronger on the z-axis, and more accurate across the board. (Variable Environmental Controlled Temperature)

Actively heated chamber

Maximum temperature:

110° C

Thermal Regulation evenly heats and controls the print environment leading to parts that are 2x stronger on the z-axis, and 2x more accurate across the board.

Print strong, heat-resistant metal replacement parts

Rigid metal frame

A structurally-optimized metal frame runs the full length of the body to offset flexing. Less flexing means more consistent prints with better part accuracy and fewer failures.

Dimensional accuracy

+/- 0.2mm

or +/-.002mm per mm of travel*

*(Whichever is greater.) Based on internal testing of selected geometries.

    Print technology

This is the process of depositing layers of filament, one on top of the other, to build up shapes and models. It is a form of additive manufacturing technology and the process used by all UltiMaker 3D printers.

    Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)

    Compatible filament diameter

The filament diameter that achieves optimal results on UltiMaker Method series 3D printers.

    Printer properties

    Layer resolution

A micron is the measurement used to define the thickness of a 3D printed layer. 20 micron is 0.02 mm thick. Thinner layers are used for high-detail prints, thicker layers are great for fast prototypes.

    0.4 mm nozzle: 400 - 20 micron

    Display

The touchscreen allows you to start, stop, and monitor prints on your Method series printer. As well as allowing you to calibrate your printer and install firmware updates without needing to use a computer or other device.

    5" (12.7 cm) full-color capacitive touchscreen

    Extruder replacement

Faster extruder changes mean higher uptime and easier maintenance. The Method X Carbon Fiber Edition comes with 1C, 2A, and 2XA extruders for printing polymers, composites, and soluble support materials. The Labs extruder is sold separately for printing 3rd part materials.

    Swappable performance extruders

    Print head

Thanks to swappable extruders, you can quickly switch to the extruder that matches the material you are trying to print. This results in higher uptime and easier maintenance of your 3D printer.

Dual-extrusion print head with swappable extruders

    Nozzle diameter

The nozzel diameter controls how much material can be extruded at once. All Method series extruders have 0.4 mm nozzles.

    0.4 mm

    Operation parameters

    Maximum heated chamber temperature

The thermally regulated heated chamber is able to rise to the target temp and stay there for the duration of the print ensuring an optimal print environment.

    110° C

    Maximum extruder temperature

The extruder temperature varies by which material is being printed. The high max temperature available on the Method series of printers allows for printing with high-temp materials.

    300° C

    Operating sound

The operating sound will vary at different stages of a print.

    57.1 +/- 3 dB

    Build plate

Simply bend the build plate and your 3D printed parts pop off. Replacement build surfaces are available if the surface of your build plate becomes damaged.

    Flexible build plate

    Maximum power draw

The peak power draw that the printer can reach – usually when the heated bed and hot ends are heating up.
